  • LCA - The Last Chance Aircraft

I don't think so it will ever come out from its testing phase. Still struggling with its Engine and Fly By Wire system.

  • @chnasirnazir why are you waisting your time in this discussion. it is obvious that there is no comparison between a confused one and a fully operational one.

  • guys i no LCA has took lot of time but it has improved with time and soon it will be in IAF. wo kehte hai na , sabar ka fal mitha ho ta hai.

  • @Askywarrior India's 25-year-old Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) programme, delayed by more than a decade, continues to be plagued by serious technical uncertainties and cost overruns, according to India 's Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

A new CAG report states in 2010 that the LCA's development by the Aeronautical Development Agency, which is funded by the Defence Research and Development Organisation, is "beset with delays for almost every vital component of the aircraft".

  • @flanker35su As for as LCA is concerned its a piece of junk, India is a country whose every indigenous project ended in failure with the waste of thousands of failed hours. Now india wants to induct LCA as soon as possible in IAF even with its limited capability and defects just to save its FACE. IAF has decide to induct 20 LCAs by 2017 with limited capability & these 20 will be even less capable then MiG21 Bison.India is repeating the same story of arjun and Murat.

  • I do agree , it is the smallest jet fighter ever. But it is shit. I think India can do better than that?????

  • India’s attempt at indigenous production of weapons has been a colossal failure the likes of which do not exist in the annals of military history. India’s failed LCA is the stuff made for jokes around military headquarters from Brussells to Moscow to Beijing to Washington. India has been trying to produce a plane called the LCA. After a decade of design, Delhi has failed to produce a fully operational plane. The project is years away from its completion.

  • ADA has taken v.long to develop the LCA. A 25years lead time to develop a fighter aircraft is unrealistic.IAF was never enthusiastic about inducting LCA.The aircraft's combat performance was dismal and so was its weapon load and Engine problem. Its high pressure hydraulic system was prone to frequent failures and its engine & a fly-by-wire system has serious defects. During its prototype tests the LCA prototypes were grounded for many months on many occasions. It has failed in many flight tests.

  • What did Indian Air Force (IAF) achieve in twenty six years while consuming over $2 billion? the answer to that is Zilch; Zero; Nada; Nothing – except a failed project and a continued embarrassment in the shape ‘Tejas’. Tejas LCA (Light Combat Aircraft, also known as LAST CHANCE AIRCRAFT) has gone many trials and tests and there’s no sign of induction as yet. It has now been announced to enter IAF in 2015. almost a failed project.

  • 1. LCA cant even pull more than 17 degrees AOA meaning it has a limited angle of attack JF-17 can pull the same amount as a F-16.

    2. LCA isn't even for all weathers recently in an airshow in India in 2009 LCA wasn't able to take off in rain.

    3. Its too costly meaning its no longer a replacement for ur flying coffins.

    4. It has been 27 years and u only have produced 6 prrototypes (the longest aviation project in history).
