Pavel Datsyuk is like the next Pavel Bure of the 90's
-
I also remember he was so fast ppl were trying to figure out how he goes so quick - there were rumours that his skating stride actually uses both edges of his skate blade (rather than just the inside edge, like most skaters) when he skates... Sounds implausible, but that is the legend of the Russian Rocket.
-
He's nothing like Ovechkin - Ovie's a power forward... Bure relied on his speed/quickness and accuracy of his shooting.
-
Had the quickest first couple of steps in the history of the NHL. I think he defined "breakaway speed"... I remember watching the 1994 conference finals and Bure (against my Leafs) had our goalie Felix Potvin literally frightened every time he came in on a breakaway.

@SabresDangle83 Marian Gaborik? Speed, shot, and injury proneness alike. Its the closest thing I can compare him to. But Bure was in a class of his own
-
@Hom3TownH3ro Ovechkin is a pretty good player, his skill is phenomenal, but he doesn't take care of his body, after the 09-10 season all the partying took a toll on him.
-
Ovechkin? Oh god no. If anything hes like Alexander Semin. Besides the fact that Semin is one lazy son of a bitch, they both have phenomenal hands while skating at top speed. Although Bure is without a doubt faster than just about everyone.

@0912elvie you forgett gretsky, larinov

If Pavel Bure was in his prime and played in the NHL today, he would dominate the whole league.

the softest hands in history
Bure, Sakic, Forsberg, Yzerman, Fedorov, Lemieux, Jagr........
I miss 90s...

The only person that even comes close to Bure is Ovechkin. And even then Ovechkin isn't even close to Bure in speed.
