From NWA Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling, this "arena footage" from the 70's features clips of a bloody bout between Wahoo McDaniels and "Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Judging from Flair's checkered tights and somewhat pudgy waistline, this looks to be early into Flair's Mid Atlantic career. As usual. commentary is not included with this arena footage.

  • Bring Back Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling.

  • it dosent get any better than old school or shall i say "throwback" wrestling, i wouldnt give a dam where i was at, when that time came my ass was glue to a seat in front of the television...

  • Wasn't this a 3-fall? I think (if it is) It's prolly one of the greatest matches I've ever seen. I remember this!

  • OLE SAYS THAT WAHOO ONE TIME GAVE GENE A CHOP AND MISSED AND HIT HIM IN THE MOUTH AND KNOCKED OUT HIS FRONT TEETH.

  • Chief Wahoo McDaniel, Ricky "The Dragon Steamboat", Mr. Wrestling, "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, The Junkyard Dog, Jimmy "Boogie Woogie Man" Valiant, Tony Atlas.........all ICONIC faces of a bygone era. And the one and only, "Nature Boy" Ric Flair, the greatest heel the world of wrestling has ever seen. That man could sell anything, and gave his all with every performance. My thanks to all of these men for making my time as a kid in the 70's so much fun.

  • JCP @ Greensboro, NC - Coliseum - July 26, 1975 (8,547)

Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Champion Wahoo McDaniel defeated Ric Flair via count-out at the 27-minute mark

This is the official date of the match

  • @sanstitle That is one hell of a good point when he bought WCW he got the tape library that included Crockett promotions and the old georgia championship wrestling footage. Really good question why you never see any of it (haven't checked WWE 24/7 on demand myself though, it may be avalible on there)

  • Those graeco-roman tomahawk chops are amazing!

  • Ric and Wahoo were great friends outside the ring. When Ric had his plane crash back in 74? or 75 he was suppose to wrestle Wahoo that night for the U.S. title here in Wilmington N.C..Wahoo was the first one at the hospital to be by Ric's side.Who do you think taught Ric to chop.

  • Why did the referee call the match? Did I miss something?
