in 2013 for example, when your quad core PC with 4gig of ram and 4870 will still be adequate to run office/internet/messenging apps for your office and you will be unable to use windows 8 or 9 because ATI never bothered to write Drivers for its old 4870 (old in 2013) to work with windows 8 or 9 then come and tell me about crysis...

"More exciting" is not the same thing as "better".

For example, right now, alternative energy sources perform worse than coal and oil. So what? Their development is still more exciting than developments in oil processing, because they might eventually make a big difference.
