  • Funny , My grandfather told me last year , His great- grandmother was a mattamuskeet indian...Josephine Mackey chance( google Her) his grandmother was Sinkey Collins ... ect ect I traced my family history...I recently had a DNA test... 87% african, 12% european, and 1% native American...

  • @bigdeneen Well done on the DNA, The Mackey and collins are known surnames. Newman's ridge collins came from granville nc.. same place Susanna collins people came from....they became part of the Saponi tribe which lived near the tuscarora and hatteras tribes for a time period....the hatteras was merging with various tribes near them...Mackey was a surname also found in hetteras and saponi records. The only problem with DNA tests is they don't show all our ancestor's blood

  • @Monasukapanough Yeah that's true , but for all these year's I thought I was a light skin black person...then my grandfather decided to hit me with a family history at 40 year's old...I stared doing some research...I thought because of my light skin I had some other stuff in me , but I was blown when the test came back... I have european in me , I have yet to tell grandpops, because he said it was all native american...and we were not european, for some reason I think that would upset him

  • @bigdeneen The Hatteras tribe has always been a mixed tribe, even when the english first came here the Hatteras tribe would of still showed European dna...The hatteras tribe was listed as having Blue eyes and read from english books when the very first europeans came here as far as records go. Our East coast native dna is nothing like the West coast native's dna. Due to the gulf stream, anyone sailing from Europe Africa etc would eventually end up on hatteras island at some point.

  • @bigdeneen Also keep in mind DNA will only show like barely 10 percent of your true genetics. A DNA test is like taking your full family tree...and only researching maybe 3-4 surnames on the family tree. And with us dealing with the Hatteras and Mattamuskeet here, DNA tests showing European does not mean non ingenious people..since Hatteras tribe has been recorded as mixed since the 1500's.

  • @bigdeneen Did you also know the oldest artifacts on the East coast shows european contact...some artifacts are older than any other artifacts in the Americas...Research kenniwick man.....his DNA would be european also but he is like 9,000 years old and found in America, Spirti cave man is the same as well.

  • @bigdeneen I'm curious about one thing, The Native America part of your DNA....did it show a migration from the Mayan area? I recetly talked to a lady, Her results appear to be the same as yours and she lives in Virginia, her DNA was traced to the Mayan areas. What was the numbers etc on your Native markers.
