A1 60163 Tornado Talisman - Arlesey Station - 7th feb 2009

http://www.leejones.com/blog - A1 Class Tornado hits Arlesey Railway station Now Arlesey is a small village where i live, in the County of Bedfordshire in the UK, Just yesterday, a Tornado Travelled through Arlesey, to the delight of many onlookers. On A very cold, but sunny day in February 2009, Saturday the 7th, something unusual happened that is not an everyday occurrence. Although about 30 minutes later than expected, an A1 class Tornado thundered through Arlesey at a speed approaching 75 mile per Hour The Tornado in question is an LNER Peppercorn A1 60163 Tornado Locomotive Stream Engine, and was built in Darlington over a period of 18 years with donations from enthusiasts. Travelled from Darlington to London Kings Cross

Thanks for the comments. . . . . Trying to hold a very small camcorder steady in below freezing conditions, after waiting over an hour was difficult.

Wow that's amazing. I use Arlesey station every day during the week to get to Uni as I live near it and I've only ever seen first capital connect service trains go through so that's awesome to see an A1 class Tornado pass through the station. Thanks for capturing it, that was fascinating! :) Definitely a 5* Rating!

My reaction - really really nice shot - I loved the way you panned exactly so the engine never got its front out of frame.
