For 100 years, the chainsaw has ruled. Now bigger, more destructive logging machines may soon make us look back with nostalgia on the days of the chainsaw. Each machine replaces 3 loggers and most are bought with subsidies from Australian taxpayers. In the Eden woodchip region they no longer use chainsaws for felling trees.

  • have a look at the size of the log its working this is sustainable thining which will still happen if locked up by parks, once again a no brainer talking shit again!

  • Thank you Ramjet. Who ever said they were anything but thinnings? The forestry authorities would only let us go near enough to film them cutting the thinnings. You know perfectly well that machinery like this is used to fell trees of all sizes. Some huge versions exist solely to cut down the biggest trees and they were doing exactly that very close to where this was filmed.

  • you pompous fraud

  • (Green freudian slips) Unconscious stores of memory and of suppressed conflicts, which manifest themselves in dreams, literature, play and expressions in forms of obloquy or mendacity.

    Mendacity. The Green decree.

  • You may think that the statement is wrong, LiberationWay, but that does not make it a freudian slip. See the reply to Ramjet, above.

  • A freudian slip in the narrative. The common claim that logging activity causes wholesale deforestation does not hold water. This footage is of a native regeneration stand thinnings prescription. A regenerative process that you (the Greens) would like to keep as an abstruse proposition. Regeneration sequestering carbon. A very awkward, ecologically sustainable truth against the esoteric deceit that the Greens continue to perpetuate to Australian society. Chicanery. The Green decree.

  • great video of the logging, but such depressing nariation

  • I would love to run one of them wood processors in the woods

  • @fuscipes sorry i would love to take u on a tour of sustainable red gum logging its a eye opener the forest are so healthy, had just visited vic south coast and seen hill sides clear felled it looked discusting, but the land is owned and if it wasnt trees there it would be grazing pasture instead. i guess the habitat would move to nabouring plantations and i bet the habitat prospered while it was growing,i guess its a case of would u like someone telling u what an how u must run your back yard.
