Continuing from my last comment, battles aren't your fair, balanced, I attack, you attack, I attack sort of game. Why do you think there's truckloads of taunting every other second? Bad sportsmanship? No.

And why do you think the crowd goes crazy when both crews get on the floor beef it out by toprocking? Because that's what battles are, and not your "gotta follow the rules" and "go only when its your turn" bull shit.

Sure a battle has its rules and order, but like I said, its all attitude and intimidation. Breakdancing (toprock mostly) started as a kind of fighting, obviously with no contact. It's not wrong to steal a few seconds of spotlight.

that's a ridiculous argument. A battle still has rules and order, why don't EVERONE just get down whenever they want, they don't cause it's messy, acheives nothing (including attitude and intimidation) and just makes you look like a tool.

If there are no rules, punching the guy in the face will REALLY show how much attitude and intimidation you have.
