Probably one of my biggest idols when it comes to drumming. In 1954 he had teamed up with pianist Horace Silver where they co-founded the name The Jazz Messengers. A couple years later Silver had left the group in search for his own project, but leaving the name The Jazz Messenger. Thus Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. A really good recording of this groove is A Night In Tunisia off of his album A Night In Tunisia.
