The Black Crowes - No Speak No Slave

Lyrics:
Rooster crows at the break of dawn
A mother dies without her only son
A doctor laughs in the face of disease
I never once heard a preacher say please

[Chorus]
And you, you want to be heard
But none of us understand a word
And you, you want to be free
Then don't speak like a slave to me.

Policemen who break the laws
Politicians rise and fall
A baby crying for its mothers milk
A daddy's secret hidden guilt

[Chorus]

[Solo]

[Chorus X2]

  • These guys were the best band since Led Zeppelin in my opinion, and this album is one of those desert island type albums. During a time when we were realizing that some of the bands we liked couldn't play live worth a damn, The Black Crowes were brilliant performers who understood that every performance has a beginning, a middle, and and an end.

  • This album was panty remover.

  • @wolfstyle68 I was banging a chick in my car to this in '92, she was buns up and kneeling and I was wheeling and a dealing. Then, we decided to go inside my home that was my Mom and Dad's place at the time and continue. Good thing my folks were pretty much deaf at the time.

  • My stoner friend,Steve, gave me this cassettee in Santa Clara in the summer of 1992.That August,I jumped on a AMTRAK train, the California Zephr,in Nor-Cal and went to"Gettysburg" to be in Pickett's Charge in that movie. That was my first morning back east, ever:At the Virginia memorial with thousands of re-enactors.This cassette was the soundtrack to my trip!-An ohh-zee helps out, every time!
