Key Swine flu gene translated into music "Eine Kleine Influenza Musik"

Key Influenza gene translated into eerie music! The neuraminidase gene is the target for the antiviral drugs such as Tamiflu.

The simple repetitive animation was created to accompany the music and represents the repeated, inexorable cycles of viral infection of susceptible host cells.

I translated the neuraminidase gene of influenza virus H1N1 (same family as swineflu), characterised by Sheu,T.G. et al 2008, Genbank reference EU516141 and turned it into music using Protein Music Java software created by Ross King, et al, 1996.

Thanks for the comment and question. The longest time was trying to find freeware to translate the gene and get it working, followed by the animation, reckon on a couple of hours in total! :-)
