The Jamestown NY Fire Department was called to the old Erie-LackawannaTrain Station around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday June 9, 2009, to find a fire in the west end of the building. After breaking into the building with some difficulty, firefighters discovered a surprising amount of hay on fire. Thick white smoke blanketed downtown as the hay burned and smoldered, but the situation was taken care of in around an hour. Investigators have determined that the official cause was arson and it is still under investigation.

Glad the damage wasn't severe. I remember catching the train there a couple of times when I was a kid. Even after they suspended passenger train service to Jamestown they kept the place open to sell Amtrak tickets or somesuch. Used to be a convient place to go take a leak.
Had a real nice interior with lotsof marblework. Hope they restore the place someday.
