  • OMG my head just exploded!! in a good way. I am Asian American and my dad, a refugee from Laos, plays that instrument traditionally and I play Irish fiddle!!! What a good way to bridge the gap between me and my dad! Now, if I can only get my dad to learn some Irish tunes, we could play together!

  • @mishavu yea it would be great if you could play Irish tunes with your dad,and jam along with your fiddle to his Lao khene tunes... when you do, post a vid please id love to hear you together, nice fiddlin, your old timy tune is great, id luv to learn a few of those foot stomping tunes,, can you reccomend a tune for me to get going?

  • @blowinbamboo A good tune is Liza Jane. I tried to link the youtube video but it wouldn't let me. The owner of the video is bmwood1010 titled Liza Jane.

The young fella on the video, Jimmy Triplett, is a fantastic fiddler.

  • Brilliant playing! And thank you for introducing us to that unique instrument!

  • Buddy, you'd give any box player a run for their money! I was rockin' in my chair...

  • CATTY

  • Dazzling! I'm greatly impressed. At our home we have one of these instruments, and though I can make fun sounds with it, I had no idea Irish jigs and reels could be performed on it. A combination of some of my favorite music on one of my favorite instruments. A blending of cultures. Splendid.

  • He played it in Khene G.. that s why they sound similary. I recommend he should try Khene in different keys such as Bb, A and C

  • My God!!! Do you ever take a breath? Or maybe you have iron lungs?

Wish i had played this instead of the pipes. The neighbors eventually got used to the pipes but this would have brought them to their knees.

    Really great.
