@mlovecraftr Pretty sure it's just reference to "daddy" and "bear", two commonly used words to describe types of gay men. I don't think Colbert's use of the term has gay suggestions in it.

What's even more hilarious is the next scene where he attempts to seduce his interior designer (whom he assumes is gay) into agreeing with his opinion about the color scheme for a room in his house. Priceless!!! I never used to like Alec Baldwin but he was right when he said at the oscars last year that 30 Rock saved his career. Awesome character!
