Here's one I wrote today while sitting in the attic of the publishing company I write for, ZMG.
There's just something about cold, dreary, fall days...
Enjoy the view...
From My Window
From My Window
(Jeffrey East)
(October 28, 2011)
From my window
I can see the morning sun
Fighting for it's life
behind a grey cloud curtain
the sheddin' of the trees
as cold, cold fall wind blows
From my window
I can see her drive away
I thought I saw her cryin'
But it might have been the rain
The further she gets
The smaller my world grows
From my window
I can see the bitter end
Of her and me
And love and all the life that we lived
Oh I can feel the hopelessness, and all the loss and lonlieness
A sense of helpless that I've never known
Through a world of pain I'm watching as she goes
From my window
From my window
There's an empty gravel drive
And the reflection of
the man she left behind
losing his mind
as I lose sight the red tail light glow
From my window
I can see the bitter end
Of her and me
And love and all the life that we lived
Oh I can feel the hopelessness, and all the loss and lonlieness
A sense of helpless that I've never known
Through a world of pain I'm watching as she goes
From my window
