Sorry about the shakiness of the video - wasp was on a wasp trap and it was blowing in the wind was trying to steady it in my hand.

Aggressive? Only if you threaten them! I feed them sliced grapes and apples and maple syrup on my deck rail and sit there reading while 50-100 yellow jackets buzz around literally inches away and I've never been stung. And I've done this for years. The only times I've been stung by yellow jackets is when I've stepped into/on their nests by accident. BTW, I sometimes feed them from my hand and again, no problems, ever.

i love yellow jackets, they are not the pests that they are made out to be by most people.

they feed on many pest insects themselves.

and i've never been stung by own except the one time and that was my fault.

and i've taken many pictures of them close up.

@isabeats Absolute bullshit. They may feed from your hand but that does not prove they are not aggressive. They routinely sting people simply walking their dog or laying on a sun lounger. Bees on the other hand are a great example of something truly non aggressive. I think you misunderstand what aggressive means.

Yellow jackets are indeed the most agressive wasp!!! My friensd still has the scars after being stung 4 years ago.

i am 14 and never been stung by anything or broke a bone. i have had a bee, a yellow jacket, a hornet, and a red wasp land and walk on me, but no sting!
