For so long I thought my favourite author ever was a man, then I checked him out on the net :) I have never become so emotionally invested in written characters, mainly the Assassin and Tawny Man trilogy's but also the Liveship Traders and even (hard to believe maybe) the Soldier Son series. I appreciated Robin even more after slogging through about 5 of Terry Goodkinds worsening series before giving up and asking myself what the fuck am I doing?

I started to read it in English. Just couldn't wait for a translation

I finished Robin Hobb's epic first novel Assassin's Apprentice. It was my first time reading Robin Hobb and thoroughly enjoyed the full three days reading. I'm now one-third of the way through Royal Assassin. I'm glad to say that my own writing is now back on track and taking shape nicely. I have ideas for a young boy to discover that he can channel magyck through his weapons, but it needs a lot more development. Can't wait to read Assassin's Quest

She's such a good writer, I loved her characters from Farseers and Tawny man. Fitz, Nighteyes, Burrich and The Fool..
I hated the skipping from characters to characters in The Liveship Traders, but at the same time I know the story wouldn't be the same with first person POV. I have bought the Rain Wilds Chron and I think I will love it too (but prob not as much as the books with FitzChivalry Farseer<3)

@JP8940 no she wrote a few books under the name megan lindholm, her first books under robin hobb were the farseer books which are much much better than the liveship trilogy. if you havent read them id rush out and buy them , they are brilliant

Was the liveship traders trilogy the first series of fantasy books she wrote?

Truly great books, by my all time favorite author, she's right up there with the other greats!

it's a shame there's only 2 books instead of 3 from her :( the more books there are to read of hers the better, absolutely love her!
My favourite author, hands down. Thank you, Hobb, for all the wonderful, heart-breaking, thrilling hours I've spent immersed in your worlds. Your characters have touched my heart in so many ways.

Just read this book, and it was good. But I must admit I prefer it when she writes in first-person. : )
