Neither car in this race performed as good as what was expected from them. They were both faster in the qualifying stage, but that no longer mattered at this point because this race was for keeps. The Datsun 510 ended up wining the head-to-head rally by .4sec, finishing the mountain rally course in 20.2sec. The 1993 Ford Lightning looked good on the track, but after this loss, it will most likely not be back this season.
