US Open 9 Ball Champ and 2009 Derby City Classic One-Pocket Champ, John Schmidt shows someone a great One-Pocket shot. If you are into 1 Pocket you'll appreciate this move. If you love pool and understand 1-Pocket you'll appreciate this short video. If you don't know anything about 1 Pocket: it's easy to understand. Each player has only one of the pockets at the racking end of the table to make 8 balls. Simple right?

  • That John Schmidt... he'd rather be ate by a goat and shit off a cliff than to put $2 in someone's pocket. LOL - good shot - thanks for posting that!

  • I think that means he doesn't like to lose, lol. Find someone who does and you may need to take a number and fall in line to get a game!

  • That's a great shot... Learn a lot from you one pocket players!

  • I would kill a small child for that table. Great shot tutorial. Will remember that one. Been playin alot of one pocket lately so this is just great.

  • Great shot, I never knew that shot. Good one to store in the memory banx

  • I don't think John was taking credit for inventing this shot. In fact, I don't recall ever hearing him say that he invented any shot and often gave credit to the originator if he knew who it was. However, he IS smart enough to see the value of a great shot! Thanks for letting the viewers (and me) know where it did originate. I can't say I'm surprised to learn that it came from Eddie Taylor.

  • Dave, actually Mr. 400 can't take credit for that shot. That shot is a very OLD shot, circa Eddie "Knoxville Bear" Taylor. I first picked up this shot a couple years ago from an old Willie Jopling One Pocket instructional tape, and he mentions this shot came from Eddie Taylor. It *is* very effective when hit at the proper speed, and will put a threat right next to your hole, if not outright pocketing the ball and winning the game in one fell swoop.

  • Nahhh... I don't stand a chance against Mr. 400 - John is good friend and that is my favorite quote of his - that shot WAS well worth the price of admission !!!

  • thanks for da shot!
