Jay, Your position on not hiring a PR professional may have some merit if the startup is small and local, but for companies looking to establish a national or online brand reputation, or attempting to influence sophisticated target audiences, a Do-It-Yourself PR approach can incur long-term damage with customers, prospects and the media. First impressions are lasting impressions.
