She's not forcing her opinion down anyone else's throat - she frequently points out that the tropes she points out aren't necessarily sexist, but it's good to be aware of them. I'm also not sure how even if you decide for yourself arbitrarily that her views are 'uneducated' (she seems to source her arguments quite well - whether you agree with them or not is up to you) that you are still able to justify the extensive harassment campaign against her. (Methinks they doth protest too much.)

Blatant strawman attack. In fact, feminists like myself frequently defend men who are victims of sexism - in particular, the internet is quite bad when it comes to cyberbullying people who are deemed as 'sissies.'

Next time it would be a good idea to actually ask a feminist what they would do in a situation instead of making up some bullshit.

i disagree, especially with the video, where she put out on the topic, there were games representing women in a positive, less needy "damsel in distress" type, has she never heard of metroid? even super mario 2 princess had the best power. street fighter, mortal kombat, bloody roar, metal gear, tomb raider, portal??? i can already tell she's not been a 'gamer' for long. personally, i'm not going to put money on a tumblr-reaedy version of hyper feminism :/ just my opinion.

I'd also like to point out that I'm not a femenist. I'm a man. I'm a man who has a lot of female friends and a lot of luck with women because I try to understand them and how things are from their perspective. If I can do it, then there's no reason why we can't all do it.

This isn't the case for everyone however. Some men honestly aren't aware that what they are saying/doing is sexist. Some men say things like 'I'm not sexist, I think girl gamers are cute'. That is being sexist; it objectifies women. Another thing men do when playing against women online is they 'go easy' on them. If they lose to a woman, they will claim they went easy on them. It is this kind of sexism that really needs to stop. There's nothing you can do about teens and hormones.

I'm going to attempt to explain sexism in the gaming community, Gamers are predominantly teenagers/early 20s and still have a lot of growing up to do. They are full of raging hormones and react, well, as you'd expect them to really. Do you remember when you were in high school and you/another boy would tease a girl you liked? They are still in that mindset, and that is why you get the teasing online. (continued)
