  • black people and dominicans are never proud of their african background...but who really cares

  • @simbakafiri The issue is one of developing a new understanding of identity in the face of a changing world. I'm double-digit generations removed from my family's arrival in the U.S.--and that's on the Black side. My family's been in this country long enough. I'm a "Black American;" I speak no tribal African languages and have no substantial connection to the continent other than the color of my skin. I'm proud of my culture--but my culture is that of post-diasporic Black America.

    2. Stop believing everything the media tells us about Africa is negative

    3. We have a rich a great history!

    4. Stop learning about African American History all the time and learn about your African heritage.

    5. Yes most African Americans are mixed with different races but why not embrace your African side.

  • @sexyrose93 1. True. It belongs to Navajo, Cherokee, etc.

    2. I try not to. But I let the Whites do.

3/4. I need to study more about that and I feel that African American History is important.

    5. I thought I was "full" African-American. Well I'm not an "African". But my mom said her grandmother is white! So that makes me "part White", yet I look Black. And I consider myself Black. So I do embrace my African-American side way more than my Caucasian-side.

  • there is nothing wrong with being called black or African American but this once again stems from a lot of Black people not knowing where they really come from and this reason why is because when slavery and after slavery a lot of us lost our roots many races can trace back their family heritage but a lot of black people can't trace back that far because our ancestors names have been changed and shipped all over and just broken down and it's so hard to really trace back that far to really know

  • What is your profession? We neeed rational, humane, courageous historians.

  • What is wrong with just being Black? Absolutely nothing.

All of us NEED to read about genetics, human history (especially the centuries before Columbus), anatomy & physiology and spirituality. Thank you for your video.

  • @sexyrose93(5)?Every African American can also look up their own feature through our African Ethnic Groups of different shades and features. We have dark skin and light skin Africans with no admixture which is critical enough to study. Not all Black Americans are mix, only 30% or so but European Americans ost definite mix with one another as well.Don`t be confused with these terminologist, because we do have White Africans just as we do have Black Americans living abroad as an African community.

  • Im fucking african and PROUD :D

  • @micduvie yes that true we love are african roots

  • I'm Somalian and I like the term "black" because it encompasses all of us. Respect yourself and others to be respected.

  • @sexyrose93

why dont you let each of us decide what to study and how to feel and self-identify?

All humans stem from Africa, at some point in your family history, however, you may draw a line and say: I am Chinese (or Indonesian, or Italian, or US-American, or Nigerian).

The slave trade happened, of course, quite recently compared to prehistorical migration, nevertheless: it is past.

AND: I fully embrace my African heritage as well as all my other heritages. It is all part of me. Peace.

  • highfive!!!! seriously though lol
