  • i agree with the previous comment try setting your wrists earlier in the backswing. when you stand up and your hips go forward during the downswing its called early extension. to avoid this, try and swing as though you are swinging against a wall of chair to prevent your hips moving toward the ball. this will keep your hips stable and your spine angle created at address will stay constant resulting in better contact and more distance. i do the same thing some times.

  • Also noticed another thing I do the same as you. I lift my upper body on downswing. This moves my hips closer to ball. I've been looking at tiger, ben hogan and Lee Westwood on YouTube recently and if anything their spine angle increases on downswing and hips go further away from ball!

  • I'm having same issues with laying off. Im working on setting wrists halfway back, then simply coiling to top. I think I lift arms which lays club off! Also, I noticed your hips move nearer the ball on backswing and downswing. Mine do too which makes club come in steeper to ball than set up. How are you getting on with swing now?
