1982-83 ABC "Come On Along" Fall Promo

This is the full fall promo for ABC's 1982-83 season, using the "Come on Along" theme. This is probably my favorite ABC promo of them all. Features my childhood sweethearts Henry "The Fonz" Winkler and John "Jack Tripper" Ritter.

As far as I'm concerned,TV was much better in the sense that I'd go out of my way to watch a lot of these programs from my childhood.There are some decent programs in the modern day and I don't mean to sound prudish,but I got no use for reality shows whatsoever and they're all 10 years past their mandate.

Simple reason why TV was better back then:

Fewer channels/fewer timeslots, thus only the best of the best made it.

Today, there's more channels and more timeslots, thus any old thing is allowed to air to fill up the time.

Its sad now days that networks take 3 min. (the length of this promo) to shove commerials and tv promos down our throat then they shorten the program that we are watching, very sad.

I remember this period as if it were yesterday. (Maybe a bit BETTER than yesterday!) But I still had to rack my memory to recall all the shows referenced here. Sad how many of the stars are no longer with us.

@LenaAndreia - Yeah, I know nostalgia plays a huge part, but yeah, I think the quality of shows was alot better then. One good thing, like back when this was made, I still use the same 1982 Zenith TV to this very day. I see some of these shows on RTV, Retro Television Network.

What a sweet promo. I oftentimes wonder if my feelings towards TV back in the 80s and early 90s is just nostalgia, but it really did seem a lot friendlier back then. They really don't make 'em like they used to. :/
