Katie would gain to much more love and respect if she just admitted that the split from Pete left her heartbroken. Its so clear when you watch their old reality shows compared to hers know and with Alex that she isn't anywhere near as happy as she was with Pete and the kids. If she had shown more compassion from the start of the split I bet her and Pete would be back together now
