It's actually disturbing if others do not know why he opposes them. National standards-- are they really better than what we already have? Why does he oppose them? Does he opose all review sytandards? If so, why? What would be better to do, or keep from what we already have? The gov't & NEA 'standards' & actions have not always been good for out children & future.
