Hope is the daughter of Alaric Saltzman, after the death of her stepmother Isobel, Hope is sent to live with Alaric's sister and her husband. After their murder, Hope turns up in Mystic Falls. She has narrow misses with Elijah, as she helps Damon and Rose. Elizabeth Petrova turns up in Mystic Falls and begins to shake things up for her descendant.
