  • Is this siren to help with filming or something?

  • @MadPropsToTheHood It was used yes.

  • @BlueLightVids Haha just read something interesting - would you believe this type of siren was VERY effective at informing pedestrians and other users where the fire engines were coming from, but after extensive trials in Leeds it was dropped because the fire-fighters weren't 'pumped up' with adrenalin when arriving at the scene, so were not as effective at putting out fires!!!

  • @ollyk22 Haha that sounds about right, not very agressive sounding is it!

  • is that fareham fire station mate,,,lol it sounds like a rumbler, with senile dementia..not that i know what that would sound like lol.. happy new year

  • lol dubstep

  • @MadPropsToTheHood A long standing problem for emergency services has been traffic being unable to determine the direction a siren is approaching from, and different tones have been developed on some electronic sirens to help combat this, such as the use of white or pink noise in between more conventional siren noises, which helps people to pinpoint their origin

  • @MadPropsToTheHood The white noise was introduced in an attempt to help people determine where the emergency vehicle was coming from (it is more directional). I am assuming, as I have not heard for some time that this did not work as planned so it was quietly dropped?

  • @scotsfire Certainly was
