A very well made video - thanks for taking the time and effort

Almost bought me to tears this video, i grew up on that railway every year summer holidays in Swanage for two weeks, i remember the very first part of the track that was laid. Once our mum with my two sisters walked on the disused track from Herston all the way to Corfe Castle, your pictures/video bought back a wonderful part of my life with beautiful memories, the ending on this video is perfect, thank you for posting, Chris

Thank you .A very well done video. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I go to Corfe Castle quite a lot now that I am retired..Smashing.

Very attractive video, and yes, I think it's good too that people give their time to these sorts of ventures without payment (or even the hope of payment).

@ipcress1066 I'd like to bet the clock isn't original-it would have been nicked long before the SR reopened the station. If you search Flickr for Corfe Castle Station I have some photos I took in 1990.

Superb video!

Full credit to the people responsible for restoring the line. What a job they did! Great video.
Very well compiled with the 1975 photos juxtaposed with new video. I'm actually amazed how good the buildings looked in 1975 - not vandalized or burnt out. Even the clock left in place and not added to someones railwayania collection! It's inspired me to visit again as last time I went to Swanage was about 10 years ago and Flying Scotsman hauled our train!

Hi Laurie, thanks for the comment, yes I too am amazed how the original buildings / bridges looked in 1975 - normally BR would demolish everything in site to prevent the line ever being reopened. As for the clock - as you can tell the current one is different, so no doubt the original clock was stolen at some time after the photos were taken.
