This documentary film will reveal the life of a fifty-eight year old man who has titled himself, "Exercise Champion of the World". With former names such as "Wild" Bill and "Super" Bill Kathan Jr, he holds records for exercises like most jumping jacks in an hour, one-fingered push-ups and pull-ups, as well as most miles walked while balancing a pool stick on his finger. This summer Kathan plans to journey across the country thirty miles a day while balancing a pool stick on his finger and to stop at schools along the way to teach children to stay out of trouble. Told in three acts, the first segment will reveal the riveting back-story of how Kathan started off helping take care of his eight brothers and sisters and continues to struggle to care for himself today. The first part will also include his athletic progress as kid, running around on the farm and his chance to become a professional boxer as he grew older.
The simple and religious life that Bill currently leads and his relentless endeavors to help change how kids are raised and taught in America offers him and the viewer a sense of hope. The cross-country trip will form the main dramatic arc of the story while the ending will follow "Real Bill" in a competition against rival exercise record holder Paddy Doyle.
