trans script in case it's hard to hear.

1. What do you say to someone when they sneeze?
I say gesundheit. I first heard the phrase used by my dad who is an atheist. I think it's something people say because it is just ingrained into our culture, not because people necessarily believe or don't believe in a god.

2. Do you refrain from using words referring to God or Jesus?
I don't really refrain from the words, but in every day conversations I don't use the terms that much. I'll use the words once in awhile, if I'm having a stressful day, but for the most part, no, God and Jesus aren't something I talk about.

3. Does religion or theists make you mad? If so why?
Only if they are mean to atheists for being who they are or if theists do harm to others. Religions themselves don't make me mad. I don't think I could get mad at beliefs themselves, but rather the actions that some religious people might take based on their beliefs. I don't mind people believing in deities, that's their choice, but when it comes to governments fighting wars with other governments based on religious beliefs and religious people killing innocent civilians over their belief systems, I think that's where the problem is. It's not all theists that make me mad, either. It wouldn't be fair to put them all in one group. It's only individual theists who take their religious views to extremes and who try to cause harm to others that I don't think are morally right.

4. Were you ever religious? If so, what religion?
Nope, never was religious. I was brought up secular from a multi religious background. My mother is a non religious Catholic, my grandfather was Jewish and my grandmother was protestant. My parents allowed me to decide for myself what I wanted to believe.

5. Do you think you value your life more without a belief in god or religion?
I've always valued my life, but I don't think I necessarily value it more than the next person or if it has anything to do with not having faith in a god. Life is too much fun and interesting to not have value to it. I don't think it's so much that as atheists we value our lives more, but we just value our lives in different ways. I think everyone can find their own value to life.

6. What do you fear?
I fear death a bit. I think it's because I'm still young and have lots of goals of what I want to do in life. I don't fear it as much as I did when I was a kid, though. I don't think it's so much a fear of death as it is a fear of not having that chance to succeed and not being able to do everything that I want to do in life.

7. Do you think that atheists and theists should go their seperate ways with their separate beliefs or do you think that theists need to convert to atheism? No, I don't think theists need to convert to atheism. I don't think you can exactly force theists to abandon their beliefs. I don't think atheists and theists should go their separate ways, either. I think atheists and theists should try to find a way to co exist and interact with each other in the world. 8. Have you ever read the Bible? Yes, but only in parts. I've read a bit of Genesis, a bit of Ezekiel, a bit of the proverbs and a bit of St. Matthew, the story about Jesus in a desert, but that's basically it. I actually have never read the bible a whole lot. The only times I do read the bible are when I'm having a conversation with an atheist or theist about religion. But, most of the time, I don't read the bible.

  • i think atheism is not a religion in a logical sense but, the brain still holds dear to it in the same way it does to religion. I think it is impossible for one person to be completely devoid of beliefs, in a nonreligious sense. this is completely unrelated but i wanted to say this in a place where dawkins freaks wouldn't call me an ignorant evangelical christian. is there a place on the internet where i can debate people and have it not be swarming with dicks like youtube? write back soon!

  • @4ta2r

yeah, exactly. Atheism itself is not a religious, at least not an organized one like Christianity or Judaism. but, if a group of atheists get together and start acting immorally, that's where it can seem at least fundamentalist-like. as far as a place where people can debate other atheists in a civil way, I wish I knew of a place I could suggest other than youtube, but I am not sure. Good luck with finding a site that can discuss atheism in a respectful manner.

  • How did earth sun and stars get here with out God and what is the proof of this

feel free to write me back your answer

  • It's called the big bang theory. Have you heard of cosmic microwave background radiation? You can observe the universe expanding in all directions as the galaxies move apart. Read about Edwin Hubble. He was the scientist who discovered that.

  • Fear, i completely understand your fear response. I understand where you are coming from. I believe that all people should be able to coexist no matter what the differences are!!! -Kevin

  • Yeah, the fear of dying young is something a lot of people can relate to, eh? I mean, it's not so much just fearing an end to my present life in general, but more the fear of ending up not living to be able to do the things I want to do in life. Thanks for the comment. :)

  • Hey HaleyMary,

Thanks for the video response! I always enjoy hearing about other people and understand them no matter what they believe. I agree on you #7 a lot. I really wished I had gotten to reword that question better. I really want people to coexist more than anything. Thanks for taking the time and I enjoyed getting to know you better. :)

  • I love your response video here, I absolutely love your answers. We come from a similar background family wise. My family is Christian one side and Jewish on the other. But my parents have never forced me one way or the other, but have left it up to me how I feel about spiritual things. I don't belong to any religious group of any kind but I do believe in love and friendship and being kind to others. I'm glad we are now friends because you rock. :) Have a great day my friend. :)

  • @HaleyMary Totally, I don't like how religions are forced on people. My sister just randomly started all of that and pushes it on her daughter a lot. I don't mind that people believe in religions, but they should let every new person decide for themselves when they become competent enough to do so. My mom made me go to church for a while, but I never believed in any of it for a second. I eventually begged my way out. You're lucky you weren't pushed any way, and I think you've turned out nicely.

  • @4ta2r Debate in school at organized debates. No other place is appropriate. With the exception, perhaps, of face to face with real friends. Religious people think they have to change the Atheist's mind and show them the truth. It's actually rather bizarre because religious people having nothing to bring to the debate. Their is not a single positive statement you can make to back up the existence of God or the divinity of Jesus.

  • JC2 has taken each interesting element of a video game, and packed it into the ideal game ever before! If you actually really want to enjoy it for free of charge as opposed to paying cash for it, merely go to JC2DownloadXcom (replace X with . ) .

  • @littleocean27 Try potholer54's channel, he made some excellent entertaining and educational short videos on these very subjects- The origins of the universe, the origins of life, etc. Even if you don't agree with them I hope you enjoy them as clearer understanding of the opposing arguement in the debate :)

  • Just to add onto winterstellar's comment, I think Scandanavia is the perfect example of human culture evolved to it's maximum potential. Scandanavia is the epitomy of secular and liberal ideals, and as a result they have the highest average IQ's, highest education standards, and highest standard of living. Not to mention they are the happiest people in the world, according to several polls. In contrast, the Middle East is the epitomy of religious and conservative ideals...case closed; we win.
