I'm thinking of getting an eclectus parrot but it will not be a female, they're something to deal with.

What is it with Ekkies and pens? My 3 year old male would trade any of his expensive parrot toys for a cheap biro in a minute. I just have to make sure that once he's reached a certain level of pen destruction I take away the middle bit - I don't think a beak full of ink would improve his good looks! Oh, and it can be a bit annoying when I actually need to write something down as I can never find a pen...lol

There actually Great pets to, the females. Female animals will always have more of an attitude. not just eclectus females.

that female seems nasty...u can see she tries to bite her own and the male when they try to take the pen..im not really into the female eclectus personalty...thats y i got a male

I LOVE the way he looks at his foot after she takes the pen away as if in disbelief, "she did it again!" It could be my two. Bossy female, green guy that puts up with it and tries to get in some fun sometimes, too.

Very typical ekkie behavior, females are always bossy and take things from the males. Are yours an unrelated pair or siblings? I breed SI and Vos.
