Pretty much, they built a remote control car with a tunnel to pick up boxes?

You'd have to ask them for more details (we just interviewed), but it can operate autonomously and find blocks using a vision system. The competition involves doing different things with different blocks (identified with RFID), so I'm guessing there's a fair bit of strategy involved.
