Candy Cane Lane is a neighborhood holiday light and decoration display near Ravenna Park in Seattle, located on Ravenna Blvd. and Park Road NE.
It is free and runs from 4-11pm, starting about December 13 and ends on the New Year.

Most of the 23 households on this small street participate in the holiday tradition of decorating.

Displays include signs on the front lawns which read: "peace" in different languages; such as Paz, Paix, Mir, Nabad, Shalom, Kapayapan.

In the 20s, the houses on Candy Cane Lane were built close together as a result of a University of Washington architecture project. It was envisioned as a neighborhood community, with homes made of brick, arched doorways, and small garages hidden in the back.

Bill Rehder, living there 45 years (longest of any current residents) was a logging engineer and designed and built the Lane's carousel in the 1960s. It still spins around the holly bush today. He says the idea for the carousel came to him in a dream.

In 2004, a previous Lane home owner turned down a higher bid in favor of a household that would be loyal to the Candy Cane Lane tradition. Along with the house, came the previous family's decorations, which included cutouts of Cindy Lou Who, Max the Dog, and the Grinch.

Demian's original shoot consisted of 27 clips totaling 16 minutes and 17 seconds, which was cut down to 3 minutes and 39 seconds.

Shooting utilized a high definition digital camera and a camera crane.

Music by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: the "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" from his Nutcracker Suite (1892)
