A tribute to "The Prisoner".
A conceptual art series envisioned by it's star, the late Patrick McGoohan, on the surface "The Prisoner" appears to be the story of an ex secret agent who has been kidnapped and who is being held on an unknown and remote island which is referred to as "The Village". However, upon closer inspection we discover that "The Village" is not as elusive as it first appears- it serves as a mirror for own society, reflecting our customs, beliefs, principles and mores.
"The Prisoner" is the story of one man's quest to find true freedom in a world which constantly attempts to fence you in. Highly allegorical and often filled with odd imagery and symbolism, "The Prisoner" is more than worth the viewer's time and attention span. It is one of the most brilliant series to ever be committed to broadcast television.
@genia106 Thank you for watching my dear Genia! Yes, he did eventually escape, but since the show was created on a philosophical level, it ends with the same footage that we see at the beginning (PM driving his car) so in a way it's as if the same pattern is repeating, and we can never be sure if he is free! The show was/is very thought provoking. Thanks for stopping by *hugs*!

My Darling Dandeliion,
I love Patrick Mcgoohan, I used to watch this when I was a kid on Cable or PBS.
Loved the show, reminded me of the Avengers somehow. I remember he was always trying to escape and that big white ball would chase him. Did he ever escape?
Great video...Loved it...A million bouncing white balls...:-)
