I liked the tracking in at the beginning of this clip, with all the different couples.
It's no wonder that this film won best picture - and for the very first time, too!
Although personally I loved Metropolis - that should've won some awards. Yay early science fiction!
Thanks for posting this - I will check it out sometime soon

It was ahead of its time indeed, just like All quiet in the Western Front & the Dawn Patrol among others. Its real planes fighting makes all the recent CGI & special effects ridiculous in air combat movies like Memphis Belle, Flyboys, Pearl Harbor, & Red Tails.

Yes, a truly classic movie for its time. Even real biplanes were flown. Forget seeing in on Blu-Ray.It's only a way for Hollywood to make more money from the consumer. This applies to present day movies as well.

I am with CactusBlue60, good trailer, but have to disagree, it's a film that still holds up, and the melodrama, as well as the aerial sequences, make it more accessible for those who are not confirmed classic film fans. I think it really gets across the innocence of the WWI generation.
Are you kidding me?? Not a great film? Yes, it was melodramatic, but so were most silent movies, they didn't have their voices available to help mute the physical acting. The aerial sequences were far ahead of their time, and are probably the main reason Wings won the first Best Picture Oscar. I wish someone would do a fully orchestrated soundtrack, I know they were trying to stay in period with the theater organ, but please. Thanks for posting, great trailer regardless.

It's reputation placed my expectations pretty high, I guess... It's enjoyable as I have wrote, but Clara Bow herself starred in a better movie that same year in my opinion ("It"). People curious to see the first Oscar winner and who aren't used to silents may be disappointed.
I agree that the aerial sequences are excellent though!
