California Flood at Polliwog Park, Manhattan Beach, Winter Storm December 2010

California Flood! When it rains hard in Manhattan Beach, California, Polliwog Park gets flooded. This time it's flooded all the way up to the little league baseball field. It's supposed to rain for a few more days too. There are big pumps working to drain off all of the extra water, but they can't pump fast enough to stop the flood. I thought I'd capture it on video in case the city ever gets pumps that can keep the pond from flooding. The floods are a tradition, and we like to go down and see the flooding whenever there is a big winter storm.

@hoopjunkie77 Yeah. I've seen it do this since I was a kid. Sometimes it overflows into the neighborhood by the baseball field. One time people were riding up and down the street in rafts for fun. I thought I'd put video of the flood on YouTube so people could see what it's like.

@108268 I have a 10-foot inflatable raft and a battery-powered air pump, which would have been a lot of fun to take out, but the park rangers were watching the park and keeping people out of the water.

@bangalorebobbel Ha ha! I remember that one. I'm trying to smash the stereotypes with my flood video. When we do get rain, there's nowhere for it to go, so we get floods and mudslides.
