Dual booting Windows and MacOS on a none Apple machine?
I know how and I would love to do a video BUT it is strictly against Apples EULA to install OSX on a none Apple machine. First thing you are going to want to do is convince Apple to get the stick out of their asses, then I can make that video.
I suggest checking out Linux in the mean time. If you still want to go ahead with it then the process is pretty much similar to this, you make free space and install osx there.

Which Ubuntu are you using? 32 bit or 64 bit? Also, is it safe to assume that the same thing will work with Windows XP?

I use 32 bit Linux(I actually use Mandriva, not Ubuntu). I've had problems with 64bit linux in the past so I tend to stay away. Similar process with XP but XP doesn't have it's own partition tool so you are going to have to use a 3rd party program like GParted,
