Yes, Galway is very big on low notes. I think it helps to blow down into the mouthpiece to get 'em to sound, also to add vibrato to bring out the volume.

No kidding - have a look to his masterclasses on youtube, you can learn a lot by listen to him :ö) and try out some most useful tips and helpful suggestions...
