Royal Scots Dragoon Guards - Hector The Hero - Scotland.

Hector rose from private to Major General, unheard of in an Army rife with class prejudice. Homosexuality & pederasty were alleged in 1903. He read an article Grave Charge Lies on Sir H Macdonald & shot himself. An inquiry decided the charges were false, & promoted by spite & jealousy, but this was just what its sponsors wanted to hear. On the other hand, similar behaviour by other leading figures of the day was covered up. Hectors real crime was to rise so high without being born a gentleman

Dear glenzboyz, thanks so much for this wonderful piece of music. It makes me dreaming of this such beautiful Scotland I visited so many times. The best place to spend holidays.

Best rendition of this tune I've heard. The small pipe suits this tune so well.

@redfog42 You're welcome. The summary was heavily condensed to fit the meagre 500 characters available for You Tube comments. Anyone who wants to know lots more about Hector the Hero should Google "Major General Sir Hector Macdonald"

@glenzboyz My father passed away and this was played at his funeral, he was an officer, strong and tall, needless to say this makes me cry every time but I know he is home in the highlands.
