can anyone tell me a benefit of the union??? I am from germany... but all I see is more laws and restrictions and a money eating EU government without any useful results.

on the point of legislation, Labour made ridiculous amounts of legislation making acts into crimes, including restrictions of protest. The national govt. aren't always the best legislators

@raymondo900 Yea, they`re real wierd them Poles ! I`ve heard that similar problems exist in Kingston upon Hull. Brake - ins, drug taking and car thievery. The people of Hull tell me they`ve never seen anything like it. I actually don`t believe them !

Outside immigration is a bigger threat then people from outside the EU though. Take Sweden for example. In some areas 90% of immigrants will never get a job so they live on benefits for the rest of their life.
20 years of immigration for Sweden has resulted in welfare spending for these people which now makes up over 15% of the budget. Plus the 25% of welfare for the actual swedish people and thats 40% of the budget gone.

that stereotyped point of view of the eurosceptics that say that the eu is massively expensive and bureaucratic and that the sovereignty of the countries are at risk is just demagogic. just compare the budgets of the eu with any other government´s. I don´t think that it´s perfect, but right now is helping to mantain the economic stability of the region, first in greece, now in ireland.

Games over.The treaty is ratified.We cannot pull out now.Britain sleptwalked into the EU with all thanks to Labour and Tories together.

All we have to do in the UK is repeal the 1972 act.
