Part One of Andrea Sabesin's third webisode "The Southern Jewish Wedding Singer" was taped live during the successful run of her one woman show "Girl, Your Hair's On Fire! Season 2" at The Acme Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles.
Shalom Yall!, LChaim and Eat Up that's what southern Jewish weddings are all about. Unless, of course, you're Andrea. Always the wedding singer, sometimes the bridesmaid and never the bride, Andrea is attending her 25th consecutive wedding minus, as usual, a plus one. This time shes back down south in Memphis, her childhood hometown, to celebrate the nuptials of an old friend. Trapped in the same reception hall where countless boys rejected her during the excruciating Bar/Bat Mitzvah parties of her past, Andrea spends the evening begging the band leader to find the music inexplicably misplaced for the only song that fits both the brides must play list and Andreas vocal range, desperately dodging constant queries by family friends about her glamorous Hollywood life and mind-boggling single status and evading the unwelcome advances of a surprise set up. If only she could grab a tray of mini potato latkes and disappear behind the Absolut shot bar!
LA Weekly says, "Andrea Sabesin's one-woman show...is less like another one woman-show in Hollywood and more like hanging out with an exceptionally funny friend." Even with her rich fantasy life, there's still no getting away from brides, babies,& blind dates. If only she could buy happiness at Target.
Andrea,
Again your talent brings a bright day. Your talent is fresh, fun and ENTERTAINING! You are the best. Keep up your wonderful work.
