Ah, the sound of early American reed organ!

Beautiful full sound. These instruments are true trreasures, though those that love and preserve them are few, we do it with a passion. And history will thank us.
I just took possession of a Mason & Hamlin which after being rebuilt , will be playing ( hopefully ) in 100 years, long after I'm gone.

@Musique3579 I need to request comments on all my videos in future, I guess. I don't usually think to comment when I see a video either

@Offshoreorganbuilder I can't understand it either and now it is over 4,000 views! Can't anyone say anything nice these days about people who love and preserve wonderful treasures of the past? Seems like all they care about is iPods, Cell Phones and what team is going to win the "Stupid Bowl."

I've been trying to go to your site and cannot connect. Is your site up and running?

Lovely sounding Estey! I have the same model, un-restored, and this will give me the kick in the pants I needed to get moving with it. Even un-restored, ciphers and all, I thought this was the best sounding reed organ I'd ever heard. Some big honking reeds in that sub bass.

That's a noble sound. Remarkable, how the 'mouth organ under steam' tone quality of the reed organ suits hymn tunes. Thanks for the posting. I am surprised that virually none of the other 2,600+ viewers even bothered to say whether they liked or disliked your efforts. - Miserable so-and-sos!
Hopefully it was a rare outage at the servers, It is up now thepianoworld com

Send it on down and we can do the same top to bottom restoration on yours. Hopefully yours still has the pump handle or crank mechanism and won't need as much as this one did. Doug
