Google Chrome OS is based off of Linux ...
I use Ubuntu Linux and it's way faster than Windows... but there are 100's of free Linux OS out there... Like Linux Mint, MoonOS, Fedora, Gentoo, openSUSE, Xubuntu, Slackware, Debian, Arch Linux , Puppy Linux, Yopper... and on and on most of them are free.
