Record attempt Python at the Efteling

Back in 2005 I built Python, my Knex recreation of the ride in the Efteling. I managed to get into a newspaper. From one thing came another and soon I was contacted by a radio station that wanted to cover the story. During the phone call we agreed I would do a unofficial record attempt in Python. Another unofficial record used to be 250 rides in five days and I wanted to beat that by riding it 300 times. I managed to do more than 250 rides in five days, but due to rules made by the park I had to get back in line every ride the last few days, causing my average to drop down. I finished at 301 rides in 7 days.

Natuurlijk heb ik toentertijd de recordpoging gewoon afgemaakt en zelfs nog een 301e keer erachteraan geplakt. Toen was het wel genoeg.

Of course I finished the record attempt back then. I even rode it 301 times. After that I had seen enough and left.

Vroeger ben ik er 70 x achter elkaar in geweest. Was heel leuk. Nu vind ik de nieuwe karretjes niet fijn meer. Je zit heel krap en hebt weinig beenruimte. Ze moeten eens van die schouder beugels af en alleen heup beugels plaatsen. Dan heb je veel meer vrijheid.
