I dont understand why everyone teases the hair. If I just smush my hair up, it looks like a bump. Teasing it doesn't even create that big of a bump anyway. My hair is pretty managable and thick though...

Hi! You may want to back-comb/tease the hair more. Sometimes the bigger and more poufy you make it in that stage- it's easier to get the desired shape. Think about going from big to small rather than small to big :)

Oh and about the mousse- it may help if you use it and then blowdry any moisture out of the hair. Also don't forget hairspray!
