@CubeComputerChannel It's okay. I went to Badcaps Forum last fall (recommended on one of your videos), and they helped me realize it was a common problem on my HP model with the Intel video chip. I can't find any shop in Taiwan that can help me with this.

what did you do to the CPU socket at 3:17? lol

@IamFat32 lol I tried to pull the socket of of the motherboard, which that was an epic fail. The proper way to remove the socket from the board would be to use a heat gun and melt the solder connections...

you are a motherboardin' MFer, man. just found bulging caps in a row near the CPU on a flaky MSI board. guess it's time to solder. thanks.

Is it easy to find bad caps on a laptop MoBo? I have an HP pentium 3 board showing almost all the symptoms of the plague, but me living in Taiwan, computer "experts" here are totally unaware of the phenomena and can't even help me find the caps at all. Btw, Taiwan is where the plague started: almost all affected caps are Taiwanese.

@jaelob Sorry that I didn't see this comment until now, but usually newer laptops don't seem to have this problem as bad as they tend to use solid caps, rather than electrolytics, but it still is possible. To find them would require disassembling the laptop which is nowhere as easy as a desktop.
