Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2 - Vagabond of Time, Dhaos

In celebration of the release of Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon X, and to make up for the fact that I never had and still don't have any plans to upload any of the game, let alone get around to playing it, I decided to do the Dhaos battle in RM2 with the Phantasia heroes (Klarth? ;_;).

This is easily the hardest battle in the game. Dhaos spams Tetra Assault, Dhaos Laser, and Dhaos Corridor (gotta love the classics), alongside strong spells like Flare Tornado, Explode, Tidal Wave, Cyclone, Ground Dasher, and Judgment (sheesh!). His damage output is pretty high and like all bosses he can be difficult to stagger (though the right equipment helps).

That being said, I didn't have the right equipment at this point. I didn't really think of recording it until I remembered NDX was released, so the team isn't at its strongest (well, level wise they ARE), but I plan to come back to the battle later down the line for a better performance.

Anyway, the difficult thing about this battle is that Dhaos turns into a killing machine as he gets closer to death. He'll start spamming Million Assault, which you'll be lucky enough to survive the first 4 hits of (the first 4 hits being a max damage Tetra Assault), and he even starts casting Tetra Spell. Of course this version of Tetra Spell isn't that sissy fireball-stone blast-demons lance-wind cutter crap. Let's just say its the sole reason that he is the EX boss of the game.

Still, even with a less than ideal party, and the fact that this was only my second time ever getting to him, this battle was hella fun. I'm looking forward to it again, maybe with Suzu (didn't want to do 2 videos atm). There's a bit more to handle before I take him down again, though, including an old friend that isn't too fond of me using items...

Cless should have....MEGA SWORD RAIN for in Phantaisa it did like 6-12 hits or something like that....there was no alpha in that time with an upward hit in the end

@terdmongoler Actually...his Sword Rain in Phantasia was Akisazame, which is Sword Rain: Alpha. The only Sword Rain he has had has always been Sword Rain: Alpha, except in RM2 Cless jumps like everyone else that does it instead of doing an upward thrust.

T_T I wish I had firmware so that I could use Cless as my main instead of the default character.

@TalesOfGod It's not as cracked up as it seems, tbh. It takes a lot of setup just to get the character you want to control, and if you're like me you won't want to stick with one character for too long.

Still, it IS pretty cool. Custom firmware isn't too hard to get, and you don't have to feel guilty by using it since it's primary use isn't "OMG FREE GAMES". I'd say look into it if you could.

I wonder how I get deeper into the Tree - then again, none of my chars can do more than single digit damage to the monsters, so ..
