This is bus 18 with the DT466 in it with the economy mode on in a 2005 IC FE.

The bus that pulled into the school was 42 and it is a 2003 IC CE with a DT466E in it.

Bus 40 rode on 18 that day and I decided to ride. 18 tops out at 64 and the driver doesn't ever floor the bus.

It does have a radio and a PA system on it, and she used the PA system.

  • what does the econ. mode do?

  • Economy mode just changes the RPM on the bus so it shifts at a lower RPM to save on fuel consumption. It will also change how the bus responds to throttle pressure and depth. It's just a way to save fuel. The bus won't reach as high of a RPM or accelerate as fast, nor will it always give a downshift like it does in normal mode.

  • the bus company I work for just got some...we have two with a/c...they have the push buttom gear shift...cool..first time I've ever seen that..

  • The Allison MD 3060, push button transmissions, are cool. I honestly don't notice a different in them and the Allison 2500 PTS, to be honest. But I'm not as bright right now. How do you like them?

  • Just kidding, she'd take me though.

  • @9sb19 is Joyce really your aunt or you just kidding around

  • So they were hydraulic; I hate hydraulic. I love air. LMAO, that's pretty funny.

This isn't my normal bus, I just ride it every now and then to visit and check it out.

  • Yeah, you don't play with Aunt Joyce, lol.

  • Basically you had the same busses I rode through most of high school. The real difference was that the parking brakes on our busses were the handles on the floor. One time in 9th grade my main driver had his bus in for repairs because the water pump went and we had about 6 different busses and every time we had a different one I would ask him what the problem with this one was. The funniest one was that he described the turning radius of one bus as if it was the Queen Mary in a tub of lard.

  • was someone standing up jerred
