This is the video preview for BetterChinese.com's My First Chinese Words Book 1 - I Love My Family in Simplified Chinese. The My First Chinese Words series is designed for young children in preschool to lower elementary school with no background in Mandarin Chinese. This special set of 36 storybooks with audio CD teaches basic everyday Chinese conversations and vocabulary. The topics covered includes family, self-introductions, colors, school, nationality, food, clothes, sports, telling time, numbers, animals, the home, the community, fruits, comparisons, going to the supermarket and more!

The vividly-illustrated books are not your normal textbooks. They are fun and engaging readers that both children and adults love. Students across the USA and internationally use these books to learn basic Chinese communication in school, at home, and online. Each book focuses on 1 sentence pattern and repeats that sentence pattern with new vocabulary. This repetitive, spiral-up approach is meant to teach learners to start communicating right away - the purpose of these books is not to teach separate individual vocabulary words, but rather, takes a holistic approach to language learning by focusing on complete sentences.

My First Chinese Words is developed for non-native, non-heritage Chinese learners - learners who do not have a Mandarin Chinese home environment. Use the online learning component at www.BetterChinese.com to stimulate language learning with interactive homework exercises, games, and writing and recording practices. Have fun learning Chinese!
